Shape Their Future, Strengthen Your Practice: Early Childhood Teachers

Come Join the TQI Registered Teaching Community!

As of 1 April 2024, Early Childhood Teachers working in Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) settings have been able to apply for TQI registration, thanks to legislative changes recognising that children start learning from birth and that early childhood educators play a vital role in the “brain-building years.”

While registration is voluntary, the benefits are big, bright, and beautifully aligned with what EC teachers already do best: nurture, guide, and inspire.

Here’s why joining the TQI registered community is a game-changer:

Professional Recognition That Celebrates Your Expertise

Early Childhood Teachers are now formally acknowledged as teachers. TQI registration elevates the standing of the EC workforce by recognising your qualification, specialised practice, and powerful impact in the early years. This recognition places EC teachers alongside primary and secondary colleagues, honouring the professionalism and skill you bring to children’s earliest learning experiences.

Stronger Professional Practice & andardsSt

Registered EC teachers align with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and the TQI Code of Professional Practice and Conduct, ensuring a shared language of quality teaching across all educational settings. This not only strengthens your own teaching but also supports greater consistency and quality across the broader sector.

Professional Learning & Growth Opportunities

Becoming registered unlocks access to TQI’s professional learning programs, events, and facilitated networks designed specifically to support your development. For those seeking to grow further, registration also provides pathways to achieve Highly Accomplished or Lead Teacher Certification, elevating your career and amplifying your influence.

Connection, Belonging & Community

Becoming a registered teaching professional means becoming part of a supportive professional community, one that values collaboration, reflective practice, and shared learning. EC teachers can take part in TQI information sessions, network with peers, and access tailored support at every step.

And Great News - Registration Is Currently Free!

To encourage EC teachers to join, the ACT Government is waiving the $115 annual registration fee for the first two years of implementation. It’s the perfect time to jump in and enjoy the benefits.
