TQI’s role in relation to the ACT teaching profession stems from the Teacher Quality Institute Act 2010. TQI undertakes its responsibilities by integrating the direct regulation of the teaching workforce with specific strategic measures designed to raise the quality of that workforce.
TQI must comply with the Annual Report Directions (the Directions) made under section 8 of the Annual Reports (Government Agencies) Act 2004. The Directions are found at the ACT Legislation Register (www.legislation.act.gov.au).
