The prescribed qualification requirement for early childhood teacher registration in the ACT is an ACECQA approved ECT level qualification or an accredited pre-service (initial) teacher education program in a birth-5, birth-8 or birth-12 program (for example Bachelor of Education Early Childhood and Primary).

Academic Transcripts and Professional Experience

As part of your studies, you must have completed professional experience or supervised practice teaching in a school.

The official final academic transcript/s must include:

  1. the course requirements and the date of completion, and
  2. the completion of four years of full time (or the equivalent part time) higher education study, including at least one year of an accredited teacher education program.
  3. the number of professional experience or supervised practice teaching days*

If you have completed qualifications at an Australian or New Zealand university that provides transcripts online through My eQuals you can share these with TQI.

*If they do not include this information, other evidence showing the program's practice teaching requirements must be included. These will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Applicants who already hold current registration in another State or Territory in Australia or in New Zealand who are applying under mutual recognition provisions do not need to include this evidence.
