Teachers who are already registered

If you currently hold full or provisional registration with a teacher registration authority in Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Western Australia, the Northern Territory, Victoria or New Zealand, you are eligible to apply for registration under the Mutual Recognition principle set out in Section 19 of the Mutual Recognition Act (Australian Capital Territory) 1992 or the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Act 1997.

Teachers with NSW Accreditation are able to apply for recognition of that accreditation status under the Memorandum of Understanding between the ACT Teacher Quality Institute and the NSW Institute of Teachers. This memorandum does not apply to NSW teachers with Conditional Accreditation or Provisional Accreditation pending completion of teaching qualifications.

If you are applying for teacher registration in the ACT under Mutual Recognition or Memorandum of Understanding arrangements, you must apply for the same registration category that you have been granted in the other jurisdiction.
